Very Nice!!!

Just a comment - bear in mind that the Mk III/V would not have a crew table

or bunks in the bomb bay .

The Mk I/II could have them but they were only by special order.

Anti Sub bombs/depth charge would not be stored on the floor (no room),

again there was a special bomb trestle which would pnly be supplied by special oder

from Shorts.

Look forward to the released model  .

Alan

I know this is just a 'snifter' look, but it already looks so very much better than the Italeri kit...!"

My thoughts already are, " this one's the business".............

If one kit can be purchased which gives you multiple options of Mark and colour schemes, and it comes with sensible in-scale panel-lines, fixtures and fittings, AND it's accurate as to layout, shape and size, then it will be quite possibly the 'definitive' kit that we have all been waiting for - in my case since 1959..!

I have always thought that it is just as easy to get something 'right' as it is to get it wrong; the only difference is 'due diligence' in areas such as references and research, mold-making/master production and of course nowadays, CAD skills.

It's one of those modeling 'sole-destroying' moments when one gets to hear about a new kit, then when it's finally in your hands, it's so in-accurate or just plain wrong in certain important areas that it isn't worth all the work (for me, ever the flying boat 'nut') even to correct it; that's how I felt/feel about the Italeri kit.

As to the after-market, crikey the sky's the limit; new hulls for the civilian Hythe variant, Sandringham, civilian Sunderlands - Oh, what flying boat joy!

Christmas has just come a bit earlier for this modeler..........

Petr,

Coming along Nicely!!

Like Jason's post above, any idea when we'll see the whole kit :eat:

Looking forward to building 1 or 2 or 3  (or 4) 1 in the Braby (Hobby/Luathala Bay), 1 on the Buoy Trot (again Hobby or Lauthala Bay) 1on the hard (definately Hobby) 1 in the Hobby hangar.

And as a bonus, 50 years ago this year, RNZAF 5 (Maritime) Squadron won the Fincastle Trophy with the Sunderland MR5.

So yes, 2014 is good year for a Mk/MR5 Sunderland :yahoo:

Regards

Alan

Mouth watering ! I'm drooling ! Will this kit use the steel mould technology ? Please yes. Anyway I was about to start work on the Italeri kit, mainly filling the recessed details with stretched sprue and putty, now I'll wait for MPM's Sunderland.
