PlaStix
Hi all, As I mentioned in the WiP this kit involves no glue at all and a limited amount of painting if you make it like I have. On the other hand I'm sure, with some patience, skill and a bit of research this model could be made into a fantastic looking project. I am looking forward to someone on this site making a 'proper' version of it. Part of the enjoyment for me, apart from it being quite a relaxing build, has been seeing the ingenuity of how Bandai have designed the parts to fit together without glue but also making them able to be moveable where there are joints. Please find the 'Work in Progress' for this here. All comments welcome. Thank you for looking. Cheers, Stix My other real space builds can be found here. Will Vale
That last shot is very nice - the lens flare is perfect. As I said in the WIP thread I really like your skin tones and neatness on the face. I'm not sure if it's the photo, but the LED housings could maybe do with a bit of silver or black paint (or foil?) on the inside to kill the light leak. But that's nitpicking! Will I was hoping no-one would notice - I should have known better with the keen-eyed folks on this forum! Total goof on my part - I'm putting it down to memory loss due to advancing years. As you'll see from the photos below; the stage for the internal foil stickers on the inside of the lighting blocks is clearly evident. I remember looking at it and wondering why there would be stickers on the inside. I remember looking for the stickers themselves. At this point I have no clue....... maybe I was distracted or something but as you can see from the last photo the stickers are clearly still on the backing sheet. I do remember getting to the point where I had put all the other stickers on and looking at the sheet thinking 'I wonder what they're for .................oh yes..... now I remember........Doh!' One of the stages in question: Close-up showing the details: As of this morning the stickers still evident on the backing sheet: Anyway, at some point, when it bugs me enough (and I know it will), I will carefully try and disassemble the blocks and insert the stickers - shouldn't be too hard because there's no glue - but it might be a bit fiddly. I'd be interested to know if others have had this type problem with their kit building..... I know I've missed the odd stage before - so far, thankfully, with minimal consequences. Note to self - check photos before posting.... correct problem on model if possible .......... use Photoshop if not. Cheers, Stix
colin
I think we probably all do it, I know I do. I won't fix part d4 because when I'm fitting parts x/y I'll knock part d4 off. Then totally forget to fit part d4 Edit.See forgot that, nice build by the way
Will Vale
I'm impressed that Bandai thought of that - very cool kit design. If you decide to take it apart, go carefully - if you don't cut the pins down during assembly then they can hold very tightly and you risk marring the surface by levering them apart. Cheers, Will

Cheers, Will Thank you for the advice Will. You are quite right - I had a brief experiment with it and they do seem pretty much fixed together. I will come back to them when it bothers me enough and feel I have the patience to do it. Cheers, Stix
Nomore Shelfspace
That's a really impressive model. I like the work lights! The face is a bit like someone from the anime "Space Brothers", don't know if you've seen that.
PlaStix
Hi NS, Thank you for your comments. It was actually a fun kit to make but, as I mentioned, I did it for a nice, relaxed, easy build so it was completely OOB. I think with some effort it could be made into a properly stunning figure. The main downside is that it can be quite expensive to purchase. Kind regards, Stix Edited July 24, 2014 by PlaStix
John_W
Lovely build. Took me a moment to work out why the labels on the chest unit were reversed
PlaStix
Hi John, Thank you. Yes I had to think about it when I looked at them - thought they were wrong initially! Kind regards, Stix
