stevej60
Great diorama,i,m sure elements of this set will turn up in future builds, a USAAF set would go down well too.

Test Graham
Nicely done indeed. I'd only suggest that as the outer engine has had its entire exhaust system removed, it isn't going to be flying for a while, so those bomb trolleys are just on their way to another kite. Paul J
Nice set up. But I wouldn't want to be working on the servicing platform! (pictures 4 and 5) Looks unstable. What would the HSE have to say!!!

rayprit
Just a wee bit of knowledge here............Health and Safety did not exist until many years later. Had it have been around at that time I feel sure that we would have lost the war!!!! After 4 and half hours flying, you have to pull over for a 45minute break............. Superb build, plenty going on, I see that we have nigger running around lose, ..........I hope that Health and Safety dont find out..............You can look at this layout for sometime-always something to grab your interest and so many builds amongst the activety Well done

Test Graham
Re the servicing platform: they may not have had specific Health and Safety officials in those days but they weren't entirely shortsighted either. That's why the Airfix kit of the servicing platform comes with dual-position supports, which were lowered for use and raised for moving about. A nice touch by the designer..

Radleigh
Nice work Ratch, may I offer some advice, when you take the photos. Hold the camera a bit further back so that the whole photo is in focus (cameras need a minimum distance to focus, they all vary), It will show your work off better, Or if your camera has a 'macro' function (often badged/shown with a flower on cameras) press that and try again. Very nice though.
Ratch
I do use the Macro for close-ups. These were taken outside today. and a few more shots with my old airfield diorama extending the scene.
JOCKNEY
Struth that's a big diorama and going by the level of detail must have taken years, care to share how long you have been working on it ?
Ratch
Cheers. The small Lanc II and re-supply set I started on 4th August and finished on 15/9/13, and the bigger board is an old build, started on 25/6/06 and finished on 15/9/06, so not long to throw them together. Looks like 15 September is a good date to finish dioramas for me
Selwyn
Nicely done indeed. I'd only suggest that as the outer engine has had its entire exhaust system removed, it isn't going to be flying for a while, so those bomb trolleys are just on their way to another kite. Wouldn't park them next to a fuel tanker either! Selwyn (Great Build by the way!)
Test Graham
I feel we should regard it as an excellent display of interesting models rather than a more precise historical tableau. Ditto the GMC trucks - there are after all enough British ones available (now) to be more realistic if that is the modeller's aim.
