"Liquid Logistics" Spitfire IX 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I completed this Spitfire a week or two ago but have only just completed this diorama. This diorama is almost a what-if, I have no idea what actually happened JEJ-Jr when Johnnie Johnson left the Canadian wing, however my best guess is that they kept hold of it and used it for beer runs. Officially designated Mod. XXX, HM R&C stepped in and prevented any further exports of beer as taxes were not paid on the exports. Despite this, squadrons still did weekly runs to collect beer with little (if any) opposition from Commanding Officers.

Like it, even the beer bottle top fitted in right.

Haha, I wasn't sure about it at first but I quite like it :)

I rearranged the diorama to make it more focused on the Spitfire and I much prefer it to how it was!

I'm going to add a motorbike for the RAF and Army bloke.

Great little scene, but like you say a little lost on the big base.

The bottle-cap roundel is (in my opinion) a masterstroke.....You should definitely re-use it if you do go for a smaller base. :coolio:

Thanks Sgt! Good to know that someone agrees about the base being too large and the bottle cap :)
