mcdonnell
Hello,Heloman1 - Your topic on 'Bittern' brought back some wonderful childhood memories for me.My father was a lifelong steam enthusiast. We went to York Roundhouse in the mid to late 1960's to a special event at which we met Mr.Geoff Drury and his wife,Jill.I wish I could recall more specific details but I was very young.However,Mr.Drury had just become the proud owner of 'Bittern' AND 'Blue Peter'.I can picture these enormous sleeping Giants in the gloom of the sheds. The event must have been connected with the (then) embryonic preservation movement.I hope you don't mind me sharing this nostalgia with you.All the best,Paul.
