Dads203
Update time, The bulk of the work is done, apart from the tracks, I've scratched the new airbox which better represents the gasoline version, added the Archer rivets to replace the lost kit detail. New antenna mount folded and an new antenna base added frrom the AFV Club suspension set. Anyway I'll let my pictures carry on from here. longshanks
Looking good buddy! Couple of questions for you.... Those Archer rivets might well help me on a future project, how easy are they to use? How do they stick? Like the fine mesh you've used on the air intake, where did you source it? Cheers Kev
Dads203
Thanks Chaps, Kev, they are dead easy to use mate, just printed resin on decal sheet so apply as you would a normal decal.
Dads203
Another Update Found the blanking parts on the AFV Club suspension kit for the sponson .30 cal mounts, I'm not going to fit these guns as they were removed from the front line vehicles. Now sitting on the running gear for the first time, only tacked on with CA glue so I can remove it for painting. It also makes track fitting easier, as I'm using the Bronco indi links I can adjust the running gear to take up the tension.Rear Idler needs to be moved further back :-) And a picture of the modified Eduard PE grill designed for the Academy kit, in fact most of the PE for the Academy Stuart fits with little hassle. Dads203
Evening all, Been a while since my last M3 update so here it is Return rollers added. Petrol engine air cleaner pipes scratched.the Tamiya kit is based on a diesel engine version which never really left the USA during the war, it was used mainly in training units. Also added the pigtail to the antenna, you can just make it out under the mount. Some brass handles added to the front and side, stowage boxes have had hinges and straps added from PE More to follow soon Regards Dan

Dads203
Thank you chaps I've added the rear spade mounting hardware, going to leave the actual spade off the kit, along with the rest of the pioneer tools, so it will just be the mounting hardware. Getting close to building the tracks now! Dan

Mr Grumpylee
This is good, I remember this kit from when I was a teeny bopper, with very little experience back then, it was botched together, had a smudge of the green stuff, and there it was...A work of fart?...Make that art... :-× Edited March 5, 2014 by Mr Grumpylee
Dads203
Thanks Mr Grumpylee, it's why I picked up the kit, just to see if I could do a better job 35 years later Track bash time, Bronco's indi links.... Mmmmhh nice, nice and awkward to assemble. Only 6 sprues worth to crack on with.... More to follow Dan
Dads203
It was a nice thought .... the tracks don't fit the sprocket Back to the kit tracks This is the second set of Bronco tracks that do not fit the sprockets, I've tried with the Tamiya kit parts and it's worse. I bought a set for the M60 tank and they are the same, tired the AFV club sprockets, Esci , Tamiya, and academy M60 and varients and nothing fitted. Dads203
Managed to get the Bronco links to fit, lots of scraping and sanding,so i guess I'll be building them after all. I might be a while before I post an update... these tracks are going to eat up some time Regards Dan
AgentG
Good job! Bronco tracks are tedious but the end result is worth it. If they fit......... G
