swordfish fairey
Thanks Pappy, I used Xtracolor X628 that I have had for years, FS34226 if memory serves. I also seem to remember seeing somewhere that "Russian Armour green" is a good match. http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_soviet.htm This is a good site for references, and not just Russian/Soviet either... I applied the Begemot main decals last night and they have settled down nicely using Micro-Sol & Micro-Set with no adverse effects whatsoever.... Next is a large sheet of stencils and weapons markings that are going to test the old eyesight......... Smudge
heloman1
Now it's coming together and rather splendid it looks too. Using an aerosol for a gloss scheme has to be the best way to go. We don't get Halfords paints down here in SA but through the model car guys, I found that Dulux Duco GP Primer is a very good alternative. They do a very nice Satin Black which when shot throgh an airbrush gives very good results. I do wish my Wessex was progressing as quickly but I'm still tooling about too much! LT Motta
Black, beautiful and mean! IMHO this the nicest scheme for the Hokum! Awesome! The stencils are included in the same Begemot sheet?
Learstang
I think it looks great just as an aeroplane. Those wings aren't proportionally that much smaller than the F-104's! Regards, Jason
swordfish fairey
They are on a separate sheet Jose' that is included in the set, it also has self adhesive masks for the tail flashes on some versions.......... All the stenciling that I want to put on has been applied and will let it dry completely before giving it a blast of matt....... Smudge

swordfish fairey
The Hokum has had a coat of matt varnish and just needs all the little detailing bits added............... I want to place it on a typical Russian hexagonal concrete hardstanding, but it is on one of Verlindens at the moment....... Smudge

swordfish fairey
After having had a small problem with the matt varnish my Hokum has made it through to the end. She is stood on my usual place mat base with a card hardstanding.............. I will post more in the gallery section when I get some taken................
