Driver66
Looks like a great day out, Thank you for sharing the pictures. You must have good connections on high to get such good weather at an airshow.

dfqweofekwpeweiop4
I'm not long back from the show myself. It was a good show but sadly I'll have a sun burnt face in the morning, wasn't expecting it to be so warm n sunny! thanks Mike
Alpha Delta 210
Thanks for the kind words, chaps. Yes, the weather was a bit of a surprise, but presented it's own problems, as at Duxford you pretty much shoot into the sun all day. I'm not complaining about finally seeing some sun, though! F-32
It was an absolute corker wasn't it? My neck is feeling the pain of the sunburn today though..................worth it in my opinion! Thanks for sharing your pics, looks like we must have been pretty close to each other, were you up on the tank bank?

Even though the weather forecast was not that great, a member of staff told me that they took 5000 advance sales, rather than the normal 2000 for the Spring Show. I got there early, but I was told the traffic was queueing onto the M11 at one point! Good for the IWM, not good for tempers! It was an absolute corker wasn't it? My neck is feeling the pain of the sunburn today though..................worth it in my opinion! Thanks for sharing your pics, looks like we must have been pretty close to each other, were you up on the tank bank? Hi F-32, I agree - a fantastic show! Sorry to hear about your sunburn! I sometimes go on to the Tank Bank, but I was in the Friends of Duxford enclosure yesterday.

pte1643
Great photo's. I was working but on my way down to Ipswich I spotted the Sally B circling over the Martlesham (ish) area. Dunno what she was doing that far out?

The commentator mentioned at one point that aircraft were holding over Bury, so not sure what Sally B was doing in the Martlesham area. Glad you liked the pictures. I might go to Yeovilton on the Saturday and Legends on the Sunday this year I keep toying with the idea if taking my old dad down to Legends, but have always shyed away because of the traffic. What's the traffic situation like usually? I expect it to be busy, but is it really hideous... Like chokka from 3 miles back... Or busy, but not too bad? Any heads up gratefully received. Hi I follow the maxim of arrive early and leave early! If you're coming off the M11, ignore the first car park on the left and continue past the main entrance/staff entrance to the on-airfield parking. Gates open at 8am and I generally arrive at 8:30am and drive straight up to the pay booth. I'm usually able to park in the grassy area between the American Air Museum and the Land Warfare Hall. I generally leave during the final act and have never experienced any traffic trouble. I hope that helps.
pte1643
Yep, cheers, that's quite encouraging. I'll be coming along the A505 (from the Newmarket direction), so I know exactly where you mean.
