wkennerley
So I decided against my What-if build for this and instead I am going to do my 1/144 Matchbox Dornier Do-X - It has some damaged props so I need to see if I can fix them or whether I need to look for 12 sets of other props!! - The plane looks to be painted silver, any thoughts on a suitable enamel colour please. I think Humbrol 11 will be too shiny? Thanks, Wayne
Jessica
I used the Testors spray can for mine. It gives a nice dull weathered aluminium finish.
wkennerley
Was it just plain Testors silver? Wayne Edited April 21, 2013 by wkennerley
Natter
Maybe cut the silver back by mixing a little white? Looks like quite a build with all those windows.
CliffB
Welcome the GB Wayne I remember that about half the prop blades were broken off on mine too. Repaired OK though. Cheers Cliff
Doug Rogers
Great choice Wayne. Smudge did a great job on one of these recently, scrubs up into a nice kit. Looks sort of unreal to me, like it's out of a Tintin story or something.
wkennerley
Thanks all, will look up smudge's build - I decided not to use the kit glazing, will fill the windows with Glue n Glaze at the end Wayne
Jessica
Was it just plain Testors silver? Wayne Yes, straight out of the can.

swordfish fairey
Looking good Wayne, did you get the props sorted?, I may have some left over as I used plastic discs for the turning ones ..I used Scotch-cal (graphic film vinyl) for the lower fuselage with a rattle can of Humbrol Metalcoat for the painted areas... .Don't forget the four little port holes on the lower hull forward, both sides...... wkennerley
Thanks Smudge I had not noticed the 4 smaller portholes - Thanks too for the props, I now have the bits to continue this build. I placed the plane up against my 1/144 DC-3 boy was this a big aircraft. Wayne
