Arkady72
Regarding many questions about by curious technique of paintnig resin cockpits just after assembly into the fuselage I would like to show all my black magic tips . 1. Resin cockpit inside the fuselage: 2.Ready for surfacer 1200 and other paints... and mentioned surfacer: 3.Black preshading: 4.Base cockpit color: 5.Some fun with small brush, used Humbrol enamels and Vallejo arcylics. Thereafter I did drybrushing with Humbrol 11 silver and grey. 6.After gloss vanish I applied brown-blue AK wash: 7. Then matt coat and cockpit ready for inspection: Beast almost ready...
SaintsPhil
After seeing this master class I'm very tempted to try this method! I guess you can't do this with all subjects though, depends on the apature size?! Oh and lovely phantom in a cracking scheme! CanDid
You are just as skilled with both airbrush as well as with regular brush and you seem to have a steady hand. That is a great tutorial you have made and it seems to be a very nice Phantom on the bench as well. Cheers! /Fred

Spad
Very impressive and thanks for showing your methods. I am just a little curious (perhaps I'm being dim!) but I am not clear what the benefits are doing this way. I am intrigued. Is it to maintain a good continuity of finish across the joins between resin and kit? Thanks Rick

When I painted cockpit before assembly into the hull I have to use again filler, sanding, again painting joins between plastic and resin etc... Ah! As I thought! Personally, I haven't done a resin cockpit yet but certainly will give this idea a go when I do. You achieve excellent results - I hope I can something near! Thanks for the reply cheers Rick
