Dragon 1:6 Sherman 105mm Howitzer

Recommended Posts

If you're really mad, perhaps you'd like to try one of these. Due out in the next month or so the completed model is over 1m long, over 500mm wide and 430mm high.

Have ordered one from model and hobby world in lancaster, was hoping for about £400 but according to the rep the kits are on a ship at the moment and due in shops here in about 12 days to 2 weeks but prices arent yet finalised and it could be between 500 and 570 sovereigns of the realm....

Looks really nice but would be nice to see proper engine deck handles rather that moulded blocks representing them - same with turret and hull hatches

Agreed.

I must say, that kit is not worth £500 in my opinion.

My local hobby shop had a Dragon 1/6 Sherman kit on display last year, I'm guessing it's not this release but an earlier one.

However it was very toy like and had very limited detail, and was outrageously expensive for what you got. For example solid molded lights, no clear lenses, let alone bulbs inside that would be easy in this scale, just molded as one piece and painted silver to represent the lens.

I have one of these and I'm just starting the weathering process to represent.it in winter camouflage.

Plan of operation...

1. Fill a large bucket with whitewash.

2. Throw whitewash liberally over the tank.

3. Allow to dry.

4. Fill a large flat tray with wet mud.

5. Sellotape two pairs of Action Man boots to Molly the cat's paws.

6. Dunk Molly the cat in the tray.

7. Throw Molly the cat onto the tank.

8. Paint the tray green.

9. Throw the tank away.

10. Place the tray in a suitable kitchen/diner diorama.

Wish me luck,

Badder
