434nut
Hi, what colour green did the German Army use prior to the tri colour camouflage of today, Was it olive drab and if so was it the same as the US olive drab. If not could anyone help with the colour as I am building a Leopard 1 ARV and would like to get the colour as near as possible, Many thanks, Mickky
MASH4077
I am fairly sure it was overall NATO GREEN .
Malcolm Shaw
You could try Humbrol 155.
D1fuN0
Hello chaps Nato Green as close as you're gonna get to it, think the Tamiya one is about the closest. Steve

pigsty
Er .. .was it not gelboliv? Hu155 isn't a bad match but Xtracolor do a very good likeness.
Graeme
it was a sort of olive-drab-green - I used to work on M2 Amphibians in Hameln at 28 AER which were painted UK colours on the external surface but things like the engines were still in German colour - it was definitely not NATO Green, it was a much browner shade...maybe a 50-50 mixture of Tamiya XF51 and XF62, or possibly straight XF51 with a dark green wash
434nut
thank you for that I have actually used a Vallejo 7012 dark green and it seems to match the photos on the box of the Leopard ARV I have built

Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies
Is this RAL 6014 we're talking if Gelboliv is the shade? If so, ACLW23 (the post war Luftwaffe used RAL 6014 Gelboliv too)
