Sgeek Posted March 4, 2013 Share Posted March 4, 2013 As I recall she did. It was done as a recognition point to avoid confusion with the Argies 2 x 42's. If you do a Google image search for 'HMS Exeter 1982' you will see a fair few images of Type 42's of that era. What has cinched it for me is the one showing a 42 with a blue bottom instead of black one. The blue bottom was some sort of anti-fouling paint test if I recall correctly, Exeter was the only one that I ever remember seeing with that colour boot topping. What was the shade of light blue :-) I cannot promise anything but I will have a rummage through my shoebox with my 'not good enough for the album' photos and see if I can find anything with her in.
