Cyber-Hobby - 1/700 Scale LCS-4 USS Coronado +++ Finished +++

A little ship that comes in quite a big box - But at half price I thought I'd give it a home.

The sprues were all huddled together in one corner of the box but it is a quality item and I'd say that it would be quite an interesting project for a beginner to the joys of photo etch.

You'll need good eyesight though....

I'd assembled the hull, the helo and the minesweeping hydrofoil thingy but it had ended back in its box when I painted it the wrong colour - The helo deck turned out lighter than the hull!

Now brush painted in a lighter shade....

The helicopter is one of those "Kit in itself" jobbies comprising some 15 parts with optional photo etched rotors as well - Likewise the minesweeper.

First coat of paint on the chopper

And you may or may not be able to see but I've attempted - Not altogether successfully - to show the discolouration caused by the welded aluminium hull by using the base colour lightened/darkened ever so slighty and brushed on with the finest brush I could find.

It's progressed further since these photos but I've not uploaded them yet....

Completed!!

Decals added and final assembly - Mast is a bit wonky which serves me right for building it off the ship and the decals are a bit wonky on the helideck as they are very fine indeed - sometimes a bit of carrier film helps.

It's still a nice kit though - Especially at half price.

Only the one photo at the moment as the batteries went flat on my camera.
