She most certainly is, and i hope to hang on to her forever.

She does have sisters, just not available ones guys, sorry! Lol

Incidentally, its an Airfix 109e. Does that qualify, i must admit my knowledge of them is pretty limited. And I may have to buy new paints to get it done, as their does not seem to be equivalent colours in Revells Aqua Colour range.

Hi,

E's would have been used to intercept early day raids by the RAF & counter fighter sweeps across the channel, but not past 41 when the F appeared, but...E's were used as night fighters until more specialised aircraft come on line.

not sure but I think Owl do decals for these birds..

Cheers for the info, I did wonder hence asking.

As its just a build to tide me over until I move house as I dont want to start my first proper project, I will just stick it up in the regular WIP/RFI sections, as I dont really want to spend extra on deals for the kit.

Thanks for the info though, still going to enjoy making this I reckon.

Planing to come aboard with 2 planes for this GB.

I'll have to start a bit late - I'm busy with an F-15 Eagle, and my son is monopolising the model room for exam revision.

However looking forward to an Airfix Lancaster with No Enemy Aircraft decals, as she sits in Hendon.

And a Revell Lancaster with Paragon Manchester conversion - there's an interesting story to the plane I've got in mind.

The conversion set is designed for Airfix - so I need to study it a bit before committing.

Now that my Eagle STGB is virtually complete, I'm throwing my hat into this ring.

Opening individual threads to tell you more about each project.

Good afternoon/morning all,

Well firstly - it's an apology and an explanation.

As a cohost - I'm well aware of the fact that I haven't been giving this group build as much attention as it deserves of late. In fact, since it started, I haven't actually really had much time to check out the builds and make comments on it as it progresses. There is a very good reason behind this - and that is that there's a good chance that I'm about to lose my job.

I've been actively throwing my CV at anyone who might listen to me for the last week in the vague hope that somebody might hear my plea - but as of so far, there's been nothing too much at all. So I'm staring redundancy down the barrel and am a little bit stressed. As such, model making hasn't really been my priority - and when it has been, my heart really hasn't been in it as much as it should have been.

That aside though, today is the first time I've been able to take any specific time at the desk and I'm enjoying a bit of resin playing about at the moment. And I'm aware I need to get my build started for this before too long... although I'm also encountering a decent bit of a backlog in my builds too. So...

Anyway, what I'm going to say is that I'm going to try my utmost to improve me contribution to here over the next few days... and really am looking forward to seeing all the builds develop as time goes by.

I thank you very much for your understanding on this - and apologise again!

Chris

Mish - thank you very much for your understanding. It's a bit grim and horrible at the moment - and accentuated by the fact that there are just no pilot jobs in the UK at the moment. It might be time to make some very large decisions in life - but not just yet.

Keeping everything crossed though that it all sorts out soon! This uncertainty is flattening.

Thank you very much chaps - it's a very difficult time down here at the moment and that, coupled with a new mortgage on a house, and it's all a bit of a stress.

These things always work out for the best though! :)

Thank you very much for your thoughts though - I do appreciate them!

Sorry to hear your troubles. As mentioned elsewhere, you are not alone, and it comes as a shock to the system if/when redundancy strikes. You've just gotta be strong and ride through the down times. There is usually light at the end of the tunnel - I'm nearly 47 and after redundancy last September (2nd time), I have just been accepted on a PGCE course to teach foreign languages; a complete career change! Good luck mate and don't worry about the GB; we'll just carry on without you :bleh:

Ooh.

Just acquired a Tamiya JS-2 in 1/48 with markings for Berlin April 1945. Makes it in but only just!

I will partake of this fine group build if I may gentlemen?

Hi, of course welcome to the GB

Lol, wish I had as much time as you Andy! (Whats going to be the third? ;) ) My Ju-88 has it's wing's on so I'm not far off paint just sorting the seams, rescribing a few bits and a general tidy up making sure it's all smooth or primer.. Need an update just not got time to get any photos. Might just get a few on my work space tomorrow. (friends over tonight)

I'm busier at work than at any time in the last 3 years but seem to find at least an hour or two a night - helps that I don't watch TV I s'pose! Also the other half has been working last 2 weekends so I've had extra time

#3, if it happens, will be the Tamiya 190 Dora (JV44 boxing but without those silly red/white stripes!)

#3!!!! I'm flat-out with just the one beast! Though I have to admit I get distracted easily......ooo look at the bright shiny object! :bleh:

Would have loved to have done a second one, have 6 weeks (4 off shift and 2 on holidays), but am going away next week for a couple of weeks, so that dashes any second build.

What’s wrong with the silly red strips, they look cool, plus everyone knows red makes them go faster! :bleh: Have one tucked away (bought it thinking it was 48th, was actually 72nd!), would have been the perfect second build.

Was hoping for the La.5 (Was it an La.5 I forget?) ;)

I was going to enter my Dragon 1/72nd for a second if I got time but I won't have now...

Darn, I forgot about the Lavochkin! I think what held me back is I couldn't be sure about the decals and whether the kit ones were actually 'Defence of the Reich' - I didn't want to build it and find it was only used on the Leningrad front!

And trickyrich,,,the stripes would be cool but I do have a cool Eagle Cal decals sheet for Dora's!
