good work there fella :goodjob:

like the trailers ,dont often see them added "to the main event" so to speak ,remeber scraping the skin on my knuckles every time i had to fit the tarps over :weep:  .the only thing that i would add is red paint the the inner hub nuts,or the DFT nuts as we called them "dont f&$%£g touch" nuts

is the handbrake still on on the trailer?

judging by your tag photo you are ex army?

The wagon's are Revell.  Cost a small fortune on WaltBay before Italeri re-released them.  The wheels are from Accurate Armour as the originals were crap and also 6 stud not 5.  The TUAAMs are from Accurate Armour as are the antenna.  Sankeys are Accurate Armour also. Wagon's unfortunately are left hand drive.  I just picked up a new Italeri one to convert into an 88 and they are right hand drive!!

That's the Mrs raiding the fridge.   The motor pool generally lives on top of her Smeg Fridge!

Yep the hand brakes are on and one needs repairing, and yep, still got the nuts to do. Still got a bit of work to do on them, as I have on the Wagons - they need canvas making for the flaps yet.  I'm on the the mast also which will look (hopefully) like this.  Still got a Dexion rail to get in and also a Clansman to sort out, table for it to make, and the list goes on....

Great work.

Firing line do good stuff for the Land Rovers and they do a trailer kit, too, don`t know how they compare to AA though quality wise.

They look so much better with the right wheels on, it`s a pity that Italeri didn`t sort that out when they modified the kit to RHD.

A very nice collection you have there and steadily growing !!!! What colour do you tend to use for the greens on yours ????? Looking forward to more following in the convoy !!!!! All the best Nige

Hello mate,

I've tended to use the TAMIYA greens on them to be honest.  I know there are loads of other paints around but they do the job.  Here is my 1:1 scale Land Rover. I did a restoration on it not so long ago but didn't use TAMIYA paints on it!!

The half tonner is a firing line wagon.  Its a very old mold I think.  The scale and accuracy is good.  Tilt not so hot and no detail underneath or engine for that matter!!

I've got a 1 tonner turning up today and this is work in progress.  Its a real bugger

good collection, like the Wolf, what kit was it ?

The Wolf is Accurate Armour. I've done 3 AA wolfs plus a WMIK and also a couple of HobbyBoss trucks. I find myself not finishing them before I've started another as I love doing them, so just about everything I've got will find its way in here as Work in Progress!!

The HobbBoss trucks are not great - suspension too low for a Wolf and the body shape is not quite right - the AA truck is a better representation when compared to a big one.  I'll post some piccies

Love the shot from the back, of the figures

Mate, that is two lads walking along on a sunny afternoon having a fag and talking complete doo-doo about football, or the weather or the girlfriend, or the price of fags in the NAAFI whilst on exercise.  The lad with the gun is probably moaning about how heavy it is!!

I posted the shot a while ago on a blog I run on the ex military land rover association and loads of the lads replied saying how many memories that brought back.  I think the little fellas bring the trucks to life and visa versa.

My lightweight is coming on!!

This is a fine scale Dexion rail out of the 1/2 tonner.  I'm sticking it in the 109.   Obviously needs to be aluminium and will need the mounting making but the etching is superb. All its missing is the running strips off the edges.  It would pass for a real one

It's funny because I thought the same thing. I'm ex REME and seeing the photos brought memories flooding back. Cheers, this is a great thread,

Thanks for the Info, I may give the hobbyboss Wolf 110 a go, super collection, like the Bedford too.

if you have a crack at the HobbyBoss hardtop, I'd recommend you pick up a set of Wolf wheels from Accurate Armour as the ones shipped are pants (rims & tyres).  While you are there I'd pick up a set of TUAAM boxes and mounts as well as the HobbyBoss ones are also pants.  Spafax Mirrors on it are rubbish as well but not seen any after market ones, and the rear suspension wants raising by about 3mm as its too low - Wolf has raised suspensions with load baring springs as the get carried under Wokka Wokkas. The bench seats are pants as well but you can't see them really, and the rifle mount is cr@p.  Infact, on the whole, I'd say the HobbyBoss Wolf is not a very good representation of a Wolf at all. It woudl make a reasonably good 110 Defender however.  The WMIK is rubbish as well!!

Other than that, its a great truck!!

tell you what (and I know this is a bit sad) but I find myself arranging the little lads and the trucks.  Like you, memories flood back.  That shot of the lads with the gun and the SLR says it all for me
