Does anyone happen to have pictures of the current version of Jet Fuel Starter exhaust port on the fuselage underside between the engines (the one without the louvres/grille over the top)? Can't seem to find anything online...

Cheers

Hi Jeffrey, this is a question that I've seen crop up before but with little success I'm afraid. F-15E dot net (see the link in Le Vander's post above) used to have some images but after the site re-vamp i could n't find them again.

Basically, it is just a large, hollow pipe but it does appear to have a liner. See this article on F-15E dot info. There is a small thumbnail image in the top left hand corner. http://www.f-15e.info/joomla/technology/engines/97-jet-fuel-starter#0-6-forum-discussion

(If you want, have a look here to see how I tackled it: http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=73471&st=215 )

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've seen your (incredible) build thread and several others as well, but I still haven't come across pictures of the real one. I suppose it's in the Melampy book, but that one I can't find either.

I suppose the best way is like you did it - make a smooth shroud that blends seamless with the skin around and then insert a thin-walled liner tube and somehow create a bend forward until horizontal. According to the drawings on F-15E.info the duct exhausts is at an appox. 45° angle though - for that it really would be nice to see pictures of the real thing.

Cheers

Jeffrey
