theplasticsurgeon
Here's the progress so far, as of this morning. Others that I've found from a previous go at this kit - in 2007! When I was building her alongside HMS Nelson

theplasticsurgeon
This is now with paint still drying. Airfix painting instructions are none too clear - showing only the Stdb side. I've spent 2 weeks this year - staying in a hotel within sight of HMS Belfast. The bridge has been modified, and doesn't look like this anymore - and there's virtually nothing there in the catapult area.
theplasticsurgeon
Well more prog has been gressed tonight. Most of the weapons are now fitted. Photos tomorrow - if the sun comes out Loads of bits have been dropped, and retrieved from the carpet monster. I've realised I don't like shipbuilding - so I'm confident this will be my final ship
erikmuntz
It's looking good and two things. 1) it'll look cool on display an 2) eh at least you gave it a shot. I still need to in the 6 minths I have before college. Ahh
theplasticsurgeon
Progress first thing this morning. Atop my guidebook with tickets dated 2002. I've got different tins of grey paint now - compared to those used to paint the hull. And the dive bomber's view And today all the dingies have been fitted. Hope for this one to be completed by Christmas. Edited December 17, 2012 by theplasticsurgeon

theplasticsurgeon
Completion, finally finished my HMS Belfast. So many fiddly bits have been dropped - and retrieved from the carpet monster ! Just one AA gun missing forever . This will be my final ship-build ever, just doesn't do it for me like aircraft . Farewell - this is Tim signing off
