Dads203
I'm still watching. Have you tried rolling Kleenex soaked in PVA and tying thread around it? works quite well. Bugger to light though Nick You just have to be a bit careful what you put in it

Dads203
Right, getting back to the build, more PE work tonight, mostly on small fittings like the unditching log top brackets, APU exhaust shroud and the turret stowage box handlesand I've still got more to go One more of the tarp I made, still not sure if i'll use it yet? Might have another go at it. Cheers Dan

Dads203
I think i will Mike, just finished adding the last of the PE parts, only a few plastic parts left to add. I'm thinking of adding the commanders ang the gunners sight units as they are quite visible through the Open hatches, anyone have any pictures of the units that would help? Dads203
Spent an hour working on the commanders TKN-3MBU sight unit/ periscope, made from scraps of resin and plastic stock. still a bit more to add and its only a representation that can be seen through the hatch. Two handles need to be added, one each side. I'll make them from a scrap of PE. The big block on the back won't be seen and its handy to use to hold it with. Dads203
And now finished, close enough for government work I think Just need some ref pix of the Gunners main sight for the other hatch. Dads203
The last few bits being added and worked on, The Gill side plates and the recovery ropes, the cable is not in the kit but the ends are? No mention on the instructions but the A model carried them. Brass wire is picture hanging wire. Cheers Dan
Dads203
Some pix of the underside, added a loop to the dozer blade that was missing from the kit, just fine brass wire and a couple of small holes. And the unditching log straps with the rubber log.... Cheers Dan

Dads203
Here are the two areas that will get some paint wear, Firstly the APU box, I think that this was made from Alloy rather than steel, most of my ref pix show this with bad paint wear an no rust. And the turret bins, these again are made from some alloy. Please feel free to pass comment. Dan Edited December 15, 2012 by Dads203

Dads203
Nice BTR Andy looks the part fella, is that XF58 that you used? Edited December 15, 2012 by Dads203
Dads203
Right, this is where I'm at now, XF58 Olive green used as the base colour and lightened with XF49 Khaki, almost like a colour modulation. looks better in the flesh as my lighting and camera are not the best. The turret bins are now green, i've used maskol mask areas I want to chip, i'll wait for the paint to fully cure before removing.
