Andrew Perren
Hello guys, This is my effort with the new 1/48th Italeri Wessex HU5. built as a Falklands war veteran. The references for this actual bird seem to be slim pickings and the Italeri research is questionable. Nevertheless the kit builds nicely and I added a few touches of my own. The main cabin received pipework & cabling as well as seatbelts and some gear to make it look busier. The aerials, tie down rings & hoses were added where I thought necessary and I scratchbuilt something that looks like a cargo sling. The twin aerial lines are EZYline elastic. I hope you like her. Cheers. Andrew 32

thorfinn
I've always said that one of the best tests of a truly talented modeler is to make a single-color scheme look not just realistic, but visually interesting. Yours is absolutely stunning, a real treat.

heloman1
Congratulation Andrew, magnificent job, as an ex Wessex maintainer I think you have captured 'the look' nicely. If I may point out a couple of items, more for those building the kit in the future. The two rear wire aerial posts at the rear of the tail cone you have correctly positioned more splayed out than on the other types. This to give graeter ground clearance. Note also Andrew has added the colour code bands to the main and tail rotor heads. These denote the blade to root attachemnt. The anti slip paint decal aft of the main rotrohead, should be poitioned further aft of the grill around the main rotorhead. rmcclure
Well that's bloody brilliant! With so many details so welll executed there's always something to look at. I particularly like the exhausts - superb. I wasn't old enough (not by much!) to serve in the Falklands but a look through the open door of your model certainly reminds me of jumping in for a ride home from other parts in subsequent years. Best build I've seen of this kit and thanks so much for sharing. Cheers, Roger Edited October 11, 2012 by rmcclure
