John Lambert (of plans/drawings fame)

I am not sure if this is appropriate here,or even relevant, but I recently (as in a couple of hours ago) got the e-mail set out below. I have corresponded with John, and bought his plans, but can't claim I "know" him-I have never met him. So,is this a scam or something? The first thing I did was e-mail him at his address given on the website, and tried to telephone-it was engaged.

So,IF this is a scam, and someone has gotten in to his contacts file, this is a heads up. I certainly hope the e-mail isn't true....

I have had some scam e-mails from mates recently, where their e-mail address had been hacked, which is why I am posting this here,as I assume that some of you out there have dealt with John as well.

Hello,

I'm in some terrible and horrible situation, My family and I came down here to Madrid, Spain for a short vacation and I was robbed at gun point last night, All cash, including credit card and cell phone was stolen away. I was Hurt on my Head due to the Fact that i was hit with a Club. Right now, my Head is Bandaged but i give thanks to God for Sparing my Life.

We all have Cried and Pleaded to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all. The Main Problem is that Our return flight leaves in few hours time from now and we're having Problems Settling Our Hotel & Hospital Bills. I was wondering if you can loan me some money to pay up the bills and also take a cab to the airport, All i need Right now to get all things sorted out is 2,500Euros But any amount you can afford will be greatly appreciated by Me, I'll refund it to you as soon as I arrive home just need to clear my bills. As soon as I get home I'll refund it immediately.

I Really Count on You and am 100% sure you will never Let Me Down.

Please Get Back to Me As soon as you Can.

PS: Right Now, Am in a Local Library, Using the Receptionist Computer. I will respond to your E-mail immediately i get a Response From You.

John Lambert.

Big scam, I think the Spanish authorities would help in such a circumstance anyway, I have lived in Spain for a bit and they are not that callous, plus some of the wording does not add up, If I was writing an email I think I would say "Thank god I did not die", not "i give thanks to God for Sparing my Life" normally what you see in Nigerian scam mails

" All cash, including credit card and cell phone was stolen away. I was Hurt on my Head due to the Fact that i was hit with a Club. Right now, my Head is Bandaged but i give thanks to God for Sparing my Life."

None of this is correct English grammar, cell phone would be mobile, stolen away would be stolen, etc, africans always write in this way, look at the phrasing This a scam, I would reply "Dear John, F/O"
