Using foil on fuselage

Great link. I did that on an E28/39 kit and it wroks a treat, as long as you are not in a hurry.

The best bit is you can change the orientation (of the really cheap tescos own foil) to get tonal changes, and even use wire wool to get a high shine. Plus it is really metal! If you can, avoid a varnish finish as that changes completely the metal effect.

There is Bare Metal Foil from America, but t's expensive. Far cheaper is Sellotape Aluminium from d-i-y shops. It's self adhesive. It's a little thicker, but can me worked round compound curves easily. I once did an entire 72nd scale Vampire with it, panel by panel to get the tonal differences. Years later after damp storage the model has a wonderful white powdery finish that ali gets when neglected!
