roymattblack
Here's a TB2 kit I completed recently. There was a lot of filling and sanding to do as well as getting rid of the toy wheels and motor. That involved rebuilding the lower half of the pod extensively. Weathering was done using a graphite pencil and white chalk. All overcoated with satin varnish. The 'real' shots were made simply by suspending the model in front of my computer monitor displaying a sky B/G, then painting out the supports in Photoshop. The light effects were added in Photoshop too. Hope you like it. Roy.

Kallisti
Me too, this is in the stash and one day I'll get round to building it This one looks the business however, like the flying shots
David Womby
Great model and great photography. I like the weathering on the TB2 pod panels. Looks like Meddings' gang did it! David

David Womby
I just looked again and read this isn't the 1/350 'accurate' kit but one of the ones with toy wheels. I am even more impressed by the excellent results you got. I have two sizes of larger Imai TB2s with wheels. Which one is this, please? How long is it? roymattblack
Many thanks for all the kind comments. This TB2 is the 10" one and yes, it was VERY toy-like. Fun to tweak though. Roy.
David Womby
Roy What paint did you use for the green, please? Also, on my Imai issue the engines are moulded in a sightly soapy red plastic and I am concerned about how well paint will adhere. Was yours like that or did Aoshima mould it all in normal polystyrene? David

roymattblack
Roy What paint did you use for the green, please? Also, on my Imai issue the engines are moulded in a sightly soapy red plastic and I am concerned about how well paint will adhere. Was yours like that or did Aoshima mould it all in normal polystyrene? David Yes - soapy polystyrene - I used very fine wet and dry first, then Halfords grey primer folowed by Halfords BMW bright red. The green is Humbrol matt green with about 10% matt grey added - brush painted on then micromeshed, decalled, weathered then satin varnish. BTW.... Many thanks for the kind words everyone. Roy. triumphfan
Really nice job on TB2, thanks for sharing. Love the inflight pics, simple but effective. I have the 'little' TB2 in the container dock but am afraid to build it and get the wrong green. I was once told a particular Skoda green was about right but I forget the shade and Halfords don't stock the original Skoda colours. Yours seems to be spot on to my eye. Would you care to elaborate on the Humbrol colour numbers? Rgds, Steve.
roymattblack
I just dragged this one back out of the 'vaults' as there is a great TB2 build going on at the mo and I thought this might be of use. It's 4 years ago that it was built and I think if I built it now I'd spend a lot more time on the details and add proper windows. Any of you Sci-fi fans NOT got a TB2 kit??? Shame on you! roymattblack
I just measured it and from nose to tail it's 10". TBH, (or is it TB2...) I can't really remember who it's made by. Roy.
