Mikey58
Now that is one amazing looking model-very skillfully done! It's pointless comparing exactly to photos as kit details are never to scale-panel lines for instance-if the real aircraft had panel lines as big as kits there would be huge gaps between them. Therefore kits have limitations and can only be a representation. So this model has been built to an amazing standard and it's a shame that some people felt the need to be so nit-picking critical. When I first saw the top pictures I thought it was a real plane shown for comparason-great work! Arkady72
Thanks again for your kind words. A few words about the history of 28 PLM ( 28 Fighter Regiment ). The regiment was formed in 1952 and first planes were used MiG-15 and MiG-15 UTI, then MiG-15 bis and also Lim-1 ( produced in Poland MiG-15 ). On 5.03.1953 pilot Franciszek Jarecki escaped with MiG-15bis on Bornholm. In 1956 brought to the Poland first fighters equipped with radar. It was the 12 aircraft MiG-17 PF. Some of then were used in 28 PLM. The next generation of aircraft were MiG-19PM used also in 28 PLM at base Słupsk-Rędzikowo. This was in line with the policy of Ministry of Defense to be the strongest Polish unit in the north, directly adjacent to the "West". In 1973 put into operation the MiG-21MF. However, the period of operation of these machines in the Regiment was very short, as in 1979 assumed to serve a new type of fighter MiG-23. These fighters were used in Poland inly in that Regiment. Disbandment of the Regiment was on 31.12.2000r. Currently, the airfield Słupsk-Redzikowo are in plans to be a place of elements of the "missile shield".
