Evalman
I've been meaning to do this for a long time but until recently haven't had the time or confidence. Since retiring in April I now have the time if not the confidence! This is my first attempt at a scratch build using plastic card. Started just over 2 weeks ago, this is my progress to date. I still have lots more to do, mainly small detailed 'fiddly bits'.

Alpha Delta 210
Wow! You have done an incredible job so far. Even if you don't have the confidence, you certainly have the ability! I will be following with interest.
Richard E
Looks very good, out of interest, where are you sourcing the wheels from?
CliffB
I'm in awe Evalman! The curved, flanged roof to the cab must have been particularly tricky to create from scratch - how did you do that? Cliff

Evalman
Thanks for all the encouragement, much appreciated The curved, flanged roof to the cab must have been particularly tricky to create from scratch - how did you do that? Cliff This was actually quite easy, I used 1.5mm x 1.5mm square strip, gently bent into shape using heat. Once done I fixed it to the main roof and sanded the sides and corners to the correct contours. Looks very good, out of interest, where are you sourcing the wheels from? The wheels have been more of a problem, I decided to use wheels from an old BW Models Carmichael Jetranger. They are not the same as those used on the MFV but are a similar size, and the tread pattern looks similar. Here you can see the wheels, they won't be fixed to the body until I have finished painting. Also visible are some other items I have completed during the last couple of days, the Monitor was a bit of a pain, but the front crash bars where quite an enjoyable task. Evalman
Progress on this has been slow, the main body has been painted, the photo shows it resting on the wheels. The ladders, cab roof, glazing, monitor etc will all be glued into place when I have finished adding the markings.

Okdoky
Looks fantastic and you capture the detail amazingly well in such tiny scale. The paint finish really brings out the workmanship. Looking forward to seeing the finished article very soon. Classy itchy scratchy Nige

brianthemodeller
Brilliant! Could you take a picture with a coin or something similar in it so we could get an idea of the actual size - because at the moment it looks like it could be 1/24 scale and 18" long!! Just realised that I need two blue lights, I have ordered some from FBM. The last job will be to lift off the cab roof, add the interior and glazing, glue the roof on and add the monitor.
Okdoky
That is a massive coin not a tiny model !!!!!!!!!!!! The detail of the truck still makes this look so large !!!!!!!! Adding the decals really brings it to life !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nige
