I was in need of a few miscellaneous bits and pieces that I didn't fancy ordering and waiting for. Since the model shop in the centre of Bath closed recently (I'm afraid I never went), and didn't fancy tackling Bristol, I thought I'd pay these guys a visit. Sunny weather + motorbike = great journey as well

I've not been to a serious model shop before in my life, and I was absolutely blown away the moment I walked through the door. A deceptively small shop front led into a vast room full of every paint, wash and pigment you could imagine. Almost felt silly asking where the Model Air was... Picked up a few bits of metal rod as well (if you need scratchbuilding materials, you won't be left wanting!) and then made the mistake of asking where the plasticard was. "Down that way, first right and right again."

Unfortunately, this led me past the model stash. To cut a long story short, I spent about 15 minutes deciding whether I was ever going to come out of the place or not. If you can name a brand or a scale, they've got it. It's times like this I wish I was on something more substantial than a student budget - that Trump Harrier GR.7 looked very inviting... I remembered suddenly that I needed a Willys for my diorama, and hey presto there was the Tamiya offering. A little bit more patience found me the Italeri Field Tool Shop - exactly what I needed.

All the staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and very welcoming - thanks!

Put simply, if you live in Somerset, this is the place to go. Don't worry about the website, just turn up and take a look. I guarantee you'll find exactly what you wanted, and other things besides that you realise you can't be without :)

...and I'll be back, quite possibly within the week :)

I'll second that - absolutely everything you could want, and really helpful to boot

I have researched where the shop is so I can 'happen' to drive past on my holiday!

There's something about not being able to reach the kit you want that just takes you back to your childhood (and after a certain age can give you neckache), and this place has floor-to-ceiling kits in abundance. Because its only a small detour on the way to the inlaws they've never seen us so much.

Simon.
