My next project is going to be Revell's 1/72nd scale A400M Grizzly - the new airlifter destined for use by the RAF as well as many other European air forces:

This is a BIG model with a wealth of detail - a real stunner from Revell in my opinion!

I'm going to be making a start soon so I'll update you next time on my progress.

Tom

Well, the other half has been at work all day and I've been left home alone. That meant a solid 9-5 at the modelling desk!

I've got the interior of the Grizzly almost done today...

First up was the main hold floor. The ramp was separated from the main floor as I wish to have this open on the finished model. After a coat of dark metallic grey, I masked the tie-down strips using LittleCars 2mm tape and spayed the rest of the floor dark grey. After about 30 mins the tape was removed (the joy of Halford's paints!) and hey presto:

Next, I completed the basics of the flightdeck and attached this to the floor:

I added a few extra stencils to the front bulkhead - that may not be completely accurate, but they certainly busy the whole area up a little:

Once the sidewalls were painted and decalled, they were ready to be attached to the floor and flightdeck:

A productive day at the 'office'...

This is huge & designed to hold some serious cargo. You should definitely get hold of a couple of cheap 1:72 apache helicoptors to stick in the back!

(nice neat paintwork by the way - looking great!) :)

Nope... it's going to be OOB. The kit really is excellent so I'm going to go with it.

Me too - I can't imagine it being too difficult as surely they could scale up their 1/144th version. And size size, there's not a great deal of difference between a C-17 and an A400M.

When I got this kit I couldn't belive the size of it, so watching with a lot of interest

Going by the first law of modelling Revell will release an injected moulded 1/72 kit straight after Ray (Trojan Thunder) finishes his Anigrand kit.

Me too Graeme, it will look cool in RAAF markings when I build mine.

So I had better get on with finishing my C-17 so Revell will release theirs.

Sorry for dragging the thread off topic, looking forward to more updates Tom.

Now, this is first. I had the opportunity to see this kit few days ago and I was very impressed with what Revell did. I have this will continue with revell and they will coming out with a C-17 in 1/72 as well.

You are doing super work on this kit. A must follow thread...
