Jb65rams
My first entry will be this Golden Oldie. I understand that it is not a good representation of the prototype and that the tail serial numbers are incorrect. Planning to build out of the box together with the ground support vehicles. Might even attempt a simple diorama. My only concern is the decals as they are looking a little fragile. Edited April 22, 2012 by Jb65rams
theplasticsurgeon
I built that kit when it first came out. There will be a photo of it on my thread.
Giorgio N
It's not a representation of the YF-16 prototype but it's not a bad representation of a Full Scale Development aircraft. Unfortunately the serial number is wrong and the paint scheme suggested is for the prototype, but it has the correct F-16 title on the tail for the first production aircraft. If you can find the right serial number from a monogram kit you can easily build this aircraft accurately
Jb65rams
A change of plan. Having read the various threads it seems the the Revel boxing I have is a better representation of one of the Full Scale Development aircraft. The plan is now to finish it as F-16A FSD #1 75-0745. Means I still can keep the Red / White / Blue scheme. Just need to find some decals. Have made a start, quite a bit of flash and the plastic is quite brittle. jb
Bandwagon 106
The very first pictures I saw of the F-16 (when I was about 4 or 5) were of the prototypes and FSDs. I thought they were something from out of space-"G-Force" was my favourite cartoon at the time and here was a real life fighter that looked as if it came from that show. I loved this jet instantly-and the Matchbox Die-cast was my favourite for so long!! Thanks for bringing back those memories. Good start here jb it will look good when finished. Bandwagon 106
The FSDs had all kinds of weird and wonderful set ups. At least one had AIM-7s mounted on the MLG gear doors-it flew with this set up and even launched them! Jb65rams
Major construction complete. Given a blast of Halfords White Plastic Primer. Also made a start on the ground equipment.
Jb65rams
Made some progress over the weekend, with a marathon masking and paint session. The result when the tape came off. Still some overspray to be dealt with, bleed through to tidy up and the black anti glare panel to finish. My airbrush / masking skills still need a lot of work. Jb65rams
My apologies, does look like I am going to finish my two builds. Work is getting in the way at the moment. Haven't done any modelling for over a month, and can't see my self being able to do anything until the end of July. When I do finish them I will post them in the Ready For Inspection section. jb
Parabat
A pity as you are nearly there, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for this eye catching F-16. Good luck with work.
