Hi there,

I see our Host, Davidsm, is doing the Revell 1-72 F-16B in the Dutch scheme, which is the one I put myself down for ( and I don't have any other F-16s! ). Is there any issue with two builds of the same kit in this GB ( apart from David's results probably making a show of mine! )?

I might have to pull out here.....

I did not finish the Mustang or Tomcat GB! This is due to really big remodelling of the loft an my "hobby corner" Been working on the loft all easter and not near finished. I have to take the floor up aswell in my hobby room.

Have to pass on this one. Be up front this time!

Thanks Mish!

Didn't mean to make you chnge your build Davidsm, as we can both do the same, please feel free to do the one you were going to! In fact, start one day before me and I'll just follow your tips! :)

I really feel like I've 'made' you change your build now! When it comes down to it, the GBs are great and it's great to share the builds with other modellers, but the finished product sits on our own shelf and we alone look at it. So please do build the other one if you want, the most important thing is that you have the finished build that you want, not some compromise, you know?

Either way, I'm looking forward to your build, and all the others on here. I've never done an F-16 before, and I'll mainly be doing mine OOB ( well, apart from maybe deflecting the stabilators, as from what I've seen they're 'sloped' when the aircraft is on the ground? ). Looking forward to getting started, should have my bench cleared by this weekend!

Not committing firmly yet but I would like to try another 1/48th scale ESCI or AMT/ERTL F-16A 'Falcon' which builds into an early production F-16A, most likely a Block 1 example but could equally be a Block 5 or 10. This will have the original 'small' tailplanes and the lower UHF/IF aerial under the air intake. Might paint it up as an early USAF bird, or perhaps one of the very first NATO 'Sale of the Century' aircraft deliveries. I did build a YF-16 late last year and made quite a few mistakes, would like to make another 'Falcon' which overcomes these.

Alas I was really looking forward to this GB, but with little time for modelling at the moment (DIY is a higher priority apparently!!) and a ban on buying models I'm going to have to very reluctantly drop out of this GB! I will still be watching enviously though!

Good luck with all the builds!

It might do Rauri, but the way the pitot fits is on each kit is a little different. I'll post some pics to show what I mean in the morning. The Hase pitot has the tube, plus the end part of the radome, with the Tamiya its the other way round-radome plus a little part of the pitot.

HTH (a little!)

Any chance of adding a late comer :innocent:

I've got my F-14 to finish for that group build and will need another excuse to fill the void. Not sure what kit yet but will more than likely be 1:48 once I've figured out which one to try and lay my hands on and got my head around the different blocks!?

*Edit*

If I can jump in on this one I'll be in with an ITALERI 1/48 scale F-16A with the infamous 'Dirty Diana' livery. Not sure If I'll do the lady herself I'm going to wait until it turns up and then go for any aftermarket bits, especially as I got it for a bargain on everyone's favourite auction site :D

Hi all

I have been told that I can use a F16 C to build a N is this right .

wellzy :headphones:

You can but it needs to be a block 30 with a GE 110 engine. They were a unique combination of a small mouth inlet and a big engine. I believe that they also had the light weight undercarriage so a Hasegawa early F-16C would be perfect with an Aires exhaust set. The 'C' that I'm using only has the P&W exhaust included, it may be different for other 'C' kits

I think that I'm right anyway, I did some research in order to build my own for the group build and that's what I found. It's a real minefield with the block numbers.

Hope this helps

Pete
