Andrew Perren
I hope this might fit in around here. Airfix 1/48 Lightning F6, 11 Sqn RAF. I added some aftermarket bits n bobs: Aires Cockpit set. Quickboost ejector seat. Aires Wheel bays. Aires Exhausts. Two Mikes resin Fod cover. Dmold resin intake ring. SAC white metal landing gear. Airwaves white metal ladder. Model Alliance decals. Barracudacal Stencil decals. Eduard canopy masks. Replaced the pitot tube with brass. Finished with Alclad. I hope you like her. Andrew.

general melchett
Superb job Andrew, great tonal variation with the Alclad and nice to see subdued weathering! You certainly made good use of all the available extras ! One thing though, I've got one of these on the to do list myself and was thinking of getting hold of the Dmold intake ring but I'm struggling to see the advantage over the kit part. Not a big deal really. The exhausts look good as do the Red Tops. Nice choice of markings too. Great stuff....
OzH
Very nice.. Like the little detail... weathering on the access ladder.. A Beauty...

andy wood
I agree totally with the general on all the points he has made (including the nose ring). Lovely model. well done. One small point, though. Flaps on the Lightning were always up when on the ground. I don't know if you can remove them and reposition them at all?

J.D.
Wow. What a beautiful model. Certainly captures the look of bare metal very well.
Andrew Perren
Thanks guys for all the kind words. The Dmold intake is only a minor improvement over the kit item IMHO but it does have a sharper leading edge to the opening. As for those flaps we will see.... I don't want to risk doing damage ( because I kinda like them down ). Cheers
