You need to look at one really to see what's the best, the Amazon one seems too cheap to me.Don't skimp on cost get a good quality one, it's holding up a lot of expensive kit.
I have a Slik amt with a SH-807E head, which I'm happy with, it's trying to get a balance between not to heavy to lug around and not that light that it gets moved around if it's windy.
I'm sure someone else on here, who's better informed than me will come up with suggestions

Is it always best to see what warehouse express have to offer. if you can hold out a good few months, they usually have special offers with up to 40% off Monfrotto before christmas.
I have a Monfrotto XPRO055 and a 804 head and it is by far one of the best and most durable things I have ever bought...
when it comes to tripods, it is always best to get the best you can

James is right about Manfrotto as a choice and also about getting the best that you can afford.
James is so wrong about deals of 40% off from WEX though!!!
A suitable Manfrotto will set you back around £120 as a miniumum with an X PRO 055 and head setting you back at least £170.
Have a look at Velbon range, excellent quality and value for money and you should be able to get a good onee for under a ton.
Don't forget to budget for a release of some sort....don't buy the Canon IR remote (RC-6 IIRC) it's a right pain to use. Get a Hahnel HRC280 cable release, far more useful with pre-focus, B-stop lock and 2mtr extension. Don't buy cheap and nast stuff off the bay of evil...usually from the far east.
Hope this helps a bit.

James.....they may well have a sale each year, sales are for stuff that shops can't or don't sell. If it doesn't sell, there's a reason for that, I'll leave you to decide that. You most probably won't see an 055 X PRO B in a sale anywhere....and definately not at 40% off!!!
I'll let you into a secret, I first started in photgraphic retail in the late 1970s and that's where I am now. I used to work with a current Manfrotto (Bogen) rep too and westock Manfrotto.
