jacksdad
We want pics! Ok, ok. Anything for a quiet life. Here is a close up of the Maskol removed. It looks a bit stark at the moment but it will be dulled down by the weathering. Underside. And some random shots. As I said earlier, next job is the red fuselage band and the yellow on the nose. Also a wee bit of touch up here and there on the fuselage and then the resy of the markings can get done. The only annoyance is that there are no stencil decals for the fuel tank (Keine Bombe e.t.c.) and I don't have any in any of my other 1/24 sets. So I will just have to do without. tank152
Nice work there Steve, she looks suitably used already and thats before you've done any weathering. How have you found using the masks so far? I'm thinking of trying some out my self in the future.

jacksdad
Oh I thought that you was using Mals Masks for the national insignia etc on this build. No. But they will be used for the yellow 12 and bar, the word 'Muschi' and the Wilde Sau shield. Steve
tank152
Got ya. They look good from what i've seen of them anyway, Mal seems a decent bloke as well.
jacksdad
Mal seems a decent bloke as well. Indeed he is. He did me a set of masks for the 1/32 Zwilling, which I hope to have finished by the end of April for the Scottish Nats.

jacksdad
Can't you use some 1/32 ones?! Maybee not totaly wright, but better than nothing. I have managed to find some 1/32 ones and they look like they might work. More paint on tonight. First thing was to paint the armour panels in RLM02 Here is the canopy masked up. The other areas masked up ready for the yellow and red. Yellow and red on. Masking off. Stuck the prop on for a look. And finally a dry run of the canopy with the masking off. I'm going to let this all settle before a few wee touch ups from the yellow and red before sealing with Klear. Then on Saturday (hopefully) I will start on the masks for the other markings. What do you think so far?...... Steve

jacksdad
You will get it in the gallery this w/end I doubt it. There is still a lot to do. Yellow 12 and bar, Wilde Sau shield and Mushi still to be sprayed. Cockpit to finish off. Wheels to finish painting then attached. Wing root gun barrels. Aerial to do. Then the weathering. I think that's all. Hopefully I'll get it in the gallery some time next week. Steve Edited March 15, 2012 by jacksdad64

What do you think so far?...... Steve Hi Steve, It looks great. I have only a comment. If you spray your red and yellow band use more tape. I see that there hase been a little bit of overspray on the fuselage and cowling. You aren't the fist one to have this. I have learend that lesson the same (hard) way. I normaly do first the red and yellow paint and seal those of before I do the rest. Sorry for the comment. I still find it a great build.
