-james-
Hi guys , Just thought I would share with you all my latest project, I had very little to do today, so decided to build one of these: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread....ighlight=weight The one I have made is the 42inch wingspan version, with a total weight of 360 grams, its certainly a very lightweight model and is perfect for learning to fly with (i'm teaching my girlfriend ) All components in total (excluding transmitter) would cost less than £20 if sourced well And the material is just one sheet of 1250x800mm depron, approximately £5 I had all the parts lying around so this entire project took less than 5 hours If anyone else wishes to post their aircraft please do Of course, extra detailing is still to come, but it is airworthy right now Thanks for looking James

Natter
ARTF would take you more than 5 hours to assemble, be a darn sight more than a few quid and you'd be scared to teach anyone to fly on it for fear of pranging. That is absolutely brilliant. I hope your girlfriend enjoys learning to fly and sticks with it.

-james-
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread....ight&page=8 Here you go It isnt my design so I can only really link to this thread, but there is a vast wealth of information on there. You need: Transmitter and Reciever http://www.giantcod.co.uk/flysky-6channel-...r-p-406150.html 2x 9g servos http://www.giantcod.co.uk/towerpro-sg90s-m...o-p-403861.html 2s Lipo battery and charger http://www.giantcod.co.uk/gens-2s1p-lipo-b...y-p-406444.html http://www.giantcod.co.uk/ec0856-balance-c...r-p-403763.html Cheap Brushless motor and speed controller (or brushed if you have a 350 size) http://www.giantcod.co.uk/towerpro-brushle...1-p-406433.html http://www.giantcod.co.uk/speed-controller-p-405436.html Prop http://www.giantcod.co.uk/slow-propeller-s...7-p-402392.html And one sheet of depron http://www.stevewebb.co.uk/index.php?pid=D...4&area=ACCS And thats everything! a little bit of soldering is needed and varying glues (Uhu por and some hot glue or epoxy) And I know exactly what you mean about ARTF's I've just got my first ARTF, a Parkzone Stinson, very nice aircraft, still to maiden but i wouldn't try and train anybody on it, especially after seeing how I treated aircraft when learning James Edited December 29, 2011 by -james-
merlin3945
One very good tip for RC models is NEVER use hot glue on any part of the aircraft that is structural. By that I mean if the hot glue comes off in flight and you require that part for flight it makes a big hole in the ground. I have seen hot glue used on wings, tails and other places and the end result is not pretty.
