1/48 Tamiya P-51 'Checkered tail'

Recommended Posts

This is looking lovely great and it's really nice to see a Scouting Force subject.

They look really good with the combination of a group marking on the nose and scouting force on the tail.

I've done quite a few NMF's and I always apply Klear coats as I would normally do with any other paint job before and after decalling.

I don't see any noticable difference to the Alclad finish and I like the sense of security knowing that there is a protective barrier there when I start doing the washes etc.

Thanks for the advice guys, beautiful work on those NMF birds Nige

I decided too take everyones advice and lay a coat of klear down, as predicted there were no adverse affects. I then gave it a wash with a mix of windor and newton's black and burnt siena.

After that it was decalling time, not too many problems to report.

I've got another coat of klear to go on, then onto a spot of weathering and then the finishing line should be in sight.

Absolutley Fantastic, I am speechless I will be using your build as a guide, for when I get enough guts o tackle my Tamiyas. I also like your markings. I am starting a personal personal collection of building a kit from each fighter group of the 8th. Im still doing the revell kits,Thanks for the inspiration.
