From Edgar, coz he can't get on here at the moment, the colour was Zinc Chromate Yellow.

I thought they were silver.

have not seen anything to suggest zinc chromate, Nick- IIRC it would otherwise be sky, as per later aircraft?

I'm sure Edgar will elucidate once his site access is restored.

Sorry about the hiatus; believed to be sorted, thanks to our beloved leader. My information, on the wheel wells, comes from Peter Cooke, who got his from a former curator of the Fleet Air Arm Museum, who'd been on a carrier, during the Korean war, working on Sea Furies. As well as the wells, the wingfold, and interiors of hatches, were yellow. Peter wrote an article for Scale Models, in October 1983, and included a photo of a yellow well.
