Just as long as you understand that they're "accurate to +/- 6 inches" you're okay. They're very simple and very crude in most cases. They're really designed for airport planning purposes, and are not intended to be true scale drawings (in our sense of the word).

So what you're saying is that the plans are no good for the JMN's, but might be useful for the avid profile drawers that frequent this and other forums

Possibly. If you look carefully at them, they're not even composed of smooth curves. They have a bunch of straight lines, as if they were made up of a bunch of toothpicks. You can use them for whatever you like, just don't expect them to be true scale drawings. That's not what they're supposed to be.

Hmm, the ones I checked (757-200 and DC-8-63) were quite fine, looked up to scale, and were smooth. As DXF is a vector format, some older renderers might not have a possibility to show a curve and might replace it with a number of straight sections... Which one did you try to view?
