Mosquito B35 canopy conundrum

Hi gang.

Another part started model is dragged screaming from the stash. Its Tamiyas 1/48 Mossie BIV with the original Paragon resin 2 stage nacelles and bulged bomb bay.

No problem with anything conversion wise - but I'm trying to figure what the canopy used on the B35 was. Did it have blasters on the side windows or bulges? was there a blister or bulge on the canopy top?

Would paragons recce Mosquito vac canopy be suitable for use on a B35 , or can I just use the kit part ( teardrop blister son side panels and flat roof)?

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

As ever there is no simple answer to this question!

Bulged side windows - a definite 'yes' (although some early B.35s were fitted with blister side windows, most were bulged).

As for the top, well some B.35s had blisters, some not. Don't forget the blister was in the glazing of the top escape hatch so it was very easy to switch from one to the other. However, most common on the B.35 were the plain, non-blistered hatches.

Many of the B.35s in museums now have blistered top hatches, but that is generally the case because they've been 'un-converted' from TT.35s which always had a blister - so the winch operator had a better view aft.

So, yes to side bulges and feel free to do whatever you want with the top hatch because neither will, strictly speaking, be wrong but most common was the flat hatch.
