A lot for a little today. I saw from the instructions that I needed to add a silver strip to the leading edges of the wings and tail planes.

So for the second time I masked up the wings and tail planes. And because I'm paranoid about overspray I made sure the rest of the plane was covered.

A small update today. Been shopping and managed to spend a whole £1.19 on a silver gel pen. So I've had a little play with weathering some of the surfaces on the spad. Pics when I'm happy.

hi mish, for silver/metallic chipping i swear by my berol karismacolour silver pencil. you can shape the tip really fine for panel line edges etc. i usually use it on my models after everything else has been done

cheers

Very nice BB, I do love the Spad, there's a great book I read a while back called "Cheating Death: Combat Air Rescues in Vietnam and Laos" (see link below) which is superb it's written by a Spad pilot and gives a very good picture of the USAF Spad's supporting rescue op's.

Those blue thing's with the cocktail sticks sticking out them in your pic's............my missus keeps sticking them between her toes when she paints her nails!! I've told her I don't know how many times, they're for holding model bit's while the paint dry's!!!

Atleast I don't have to look like a big nancy in Superdrug if she buy's them!!!

LOL

Eng you are the only person on this forum to spot and comment on them, part of an xmas pressie, don't tell anyone!

I've been busy with other stuff and I haven't been around for more than just quick glances, but I just wanted to take the time to say that your Skyraider is looking great, Mish!

Thanks it's going well

I thought that film was a bit hit and miss, when the planes crashed what on earth does it turn in to?

Well she's not on her own 'legs' yet but not too far away from it.

Today I got the decals done top, bottom and port side. Next the starboard side and prop decals.

Then a coat of Klear/Future before weathering and putting some lovely oily exhaust stains down her sides. Then a collection of small bits I didn't want to knock off, undercarriage and stores and job done.
