Hi Sean.

Wasn't one of these used in the Steve McQueen movie "Le Mans"? Or am I mistaken?

Not too sure on that Daz

But do you know I can't find one reference of this car anywhere ..

the kit says its just light blue ... anyone got any ideas the chassis is P1071

Fujimi have boxed and reboxed this many times..... hardest to find are the 67/68 GULF cars, and they look superb !

Ian

Yeah, I got mine direct from Hong Kong (via e-bay) in the end.

Nah mate, he drives a Gulf Porsche 917 in Le Mans (although, that's another sexy motor). ;)

Great kit, but beware of translucent white decals, nearly ruined my Gulf version because of them! Cured by cutting out white vinyl discs from genuine F1 material. Another one on the to be completed pile! MODeller

I seem to remember that one was used as a camera car, but didn't appear in the film itself. I stand to be corrected on that.

As for the kit, there aren't enough models moulded in turquoise plastic!

Good luck Sean.

The blue in Smiffy's pic looks very close to Humbrol #47.

Also watch out for the fit in the rear chassis area - test fitting is highly recommended.

Cheers Andy

At the moment I'm working on the Ferrari ..but this one will be next

And it looks pretty close to Gulf Blue - which is also fairly close to Ford's Bermuda Blue if you want to use a Halfords spray can.

Keef

Edited as I got the wrong Ford colour - shouldn't rely on my memory any more! The Halfords colour is Ford Bermuda Lt. Blue
