Hi there

i'm in need of a colour match for the grey in the standard grey/white colour scheme that most russian fencers appear in.

Something like this

my initial thoughts are light aircraft grey, but i'd appreciate it if anyone could give me a direct match, preferably for FS or even better for humbrol as these are the paints i use

thanks in advance

I thought the standard colour scheme of a fencer was ; approx light ghost grey over very, very, very light grey, if not just a dirty, worn white. so 127 over 30.

However some of the new M2 aircraft look like it is dark ghost grey over white. 128 over 30.

I am currently building the revell kit and will paint it in dark/light ghost grey upper surface with pure white underneath.

Cheers for the suggestions chaps!

The more pictures i look at it,the more undecided i become, seems to be a different shade in every one! but 128 seems to be a good compromise, so i think i'll go with that!

cheers

If memory serves me, I remember reading an article by a guy called Ken Duffy who specialises in building soviet aircraft. He recommends using a colour called Ford Polar Grey which is a car colour match you can buy in a spray can from Halfords.

Apparently he is adament that this is virtually an exact match for soviet grey colour.

Hope this helps a little.

Mark.
