Hi Typhoon,

This link on ARC may help a little: http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/lof...hp?t106910.html

I'm not certain as for the best Humbrol color for the light stone, but I would think #94 - Matt Brown Yellow would be a good match.

Hope this helps.

Edit: lol - I just noticed - the other link is yours on ARC

Xtracolor do BS381c361 "Light Stone" in their range (X29). Its a lot lighter than Humbrols "Middle Stone" , I'd suggest starting off with Humbrol No 81 Matt Pale Yellow and add a touch or two of red ?...

Looking at this further, this is apprantly the color:

http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=23448

I found the above link from IPMS Stockholm:

http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/s...orcharts_uk.htm

Looking at these, #94 in the Humbrol range is probably not the best match, they do have a #121 Matt Pale Stone, but I don't have that paint so am not sure if it would match well.

121 is, IIRC, the Pale stone used in the Israeli 3-tone scheme of the 60s &70s, too light for the RAF colour

What about Humbrol 93? If memory serves it was the continuation in the standard range of Authentic British Army Desert Yellow, which I would imagine was a response to Light Stone. It might be a bit on the dark side, but it wouldn't be as dark as 225 Mid Stone.

I also remember the Scale Colours special from Scale Models having a Humbrol mix for an Italian colour whose Methuen reference was close to that of Light Stone. Unfortunately I won't be able to check it for a couple of weeks, so that's as useful as the proverbial chocolate fireguard right now!
