J35 Draken
28p a litre for petrol It really is weird at LN, I didn't imagine it to be just like a part of the USA in Suffolk. I forgot how annoying Nicky Campbell is too, he's just like a big kid!

Graham T
Oooooh look, a plane flying at an air base! Petrol 28p/litre!! Once had to visit RAF Lakenheath on business & dealt with a female USAF captain. First & only customer who I ever met in combat fatigues!
dad's lad
Was lucky enough to get a tour of Lakenheath a few years ago when my son's special school arranged a trip. Got real up close and personal with an F-15 and we were personally escorted through the visit by a very nice pilot whose codename was "Grimace". We were all presented with an autographed print of an F-15 straffing in Iraq which now adorns my lounge wall. Clive

Angels49
Perhaps some of the lads should arrange for him to get a ride in the back seat with an "OHHHHHHHHH Shiiiiiiiite" take off, and kindly offer him some scott tissue upon return to terra firma. One of me mates says he doesn't like flying so I kindly informed him that he has the Firmer terror syndrome....Yes the firmer the ground the less the terror . wingslinger
It does amaze me that television crews will go to the effort and expense of gaining access to an important military airbase... and then have someone report on it in the MOST asinine way. I know that they can't show inside the cockpits, obviously, but talk a little about WHY the base is there, what it does... Zero info in that, I don't even think he explained what the aircraft was... (and yes, I know what it was.. but isn't TV supposed to be a little informative?) Great to see a sneak peak inside the base and the aircraft (thanks for sharing Mentalguru) but seriously, what a squandered opportunity....
