Hallo again Here is my Avanger in 1/48. The kit was Italeri 2644. This model I built some years ago for a special exhibition for Naval Aviation. Etched parts are from Eduard and the wing fold set from WolfPack. At this time I worked with Gunze H colors. Happy modelling

Airfix did a really nice job with their F-4F-4 kit. The fuselage looks a little bit over-inflated, but just a touch, and then, it is only obvious when compared to the Hasegawa kit. Fit is excellent throughout (but see below), there is plenty of good detail in the wheel well and cockpit, and there are plenty of build options, the greatest of which is the ability to build the kit with folded wings. I had a bit of trouble fitting the wing folds, as the instructions aren't entirely clear on how to angle them, and the design allows for a lot of play in any direction. I may have done it wrong, or at least, not how Airfix envisioned, as I was unable to fit the bracing spars between the folded wing-tips and the horizontal stabilizers. I replaced these with a piece of styrene rod. Best of all, is that the kit is a simple build. I finished mine over the course of a week, while on average, a single-engined fighter in 1:72, takes me about three to four weeks to complete. Enough talk. here are the pictures. A poor shot of the kit sitting next to the Hobbyboss Wildcat, which I built almost eight years ago. That just made me feel really old.

Good day everyone! I am currently doing the MPM 1:48 Fulmar and for some reason I have decided to chop the wings up and fold them I have quite a few good reference shots but was wondering if anyone had any others. The area I am most interested in is the main wing fold hinges and also the locking mechanism. Would anyone have any close ups of this area or if anyone is going to the FAA museum can they get some shots of this area? I have the 4+ and Warpaint series as well as walkarounds here and on Prime Portal, but am just lacking clear detail of that area. Any help would be much appreciated. Hopefully the pics below will give you an idea of what I need. Pic credit to the Britmodeller walkaround Many thanks Bob
