Greeting from where I stand (behind you, as always, muttering to myself). I wanted to spread the message to the world how great Starfix kits are. They have to be one of the first abstract model kits ever made. Truly revolutionary! If only the parts fit together and the aircraft looked like what the box says (still, a company the starts in R and ends in evell has done worse before). I mostly buy old kits that I find for cheap (Airfix, Matchbox, Heller, Novo), but since I am down to two hobby shops from five (and one only carries Kitech, Zhengdefu and Revell kits) I have to resort to my stash which contains some amazing(ly horrid) kits. Airfix Fairey Battle (Bilek release, so it has to be extra, extra good) or Lindberg Handley Page Victor anyone? Also, I am tired and my backside is getting kicked by a Hasegawa kit of all things (thanks to the livery, who knew decaling a Thunderbirds aircraft would be such a pain), so I just need a little bit of motivation on that. Beware, my results are rarely ever half decent, but that is partially due to ICM making models where no two parts fit together...🙄 Anyway, off to the dining room table armed with a Hairy Stick Mk.IV and some old tins of Model Master acrylics, time for me to get to work now. P.S: I also do radio control stuff, so most of the table is being taken up by a Curtiss Pusher at the moment, oh well, I am used to tight work-spaces at the very least.

Well here we are a long time after I first proposed this GB we are now up and running. The dates for the GB are from July 6th until October 27th. And now the boring bit, the rules. Anything military whether it flies, drives, floats or even walks is covered as long as it was in service in the region covered by the GB from January 1st 1980 until December 31st 1989. The region covered is basically from Pakistan to the East and includes those areas of the Soviet Union that fall within this and also includes Alaska as the opposite end of what is allowed, so you have a large area to choose from. No what if's or speculative builds, there is more than enough to choose from within our parameters. Any scale of model is allowed and you can fill your boots with adding aftermarket whether it be decals, resin or white metal. All builds must be less than 25% complete at the start of the GB, if you are unsure whether your build falls within this or not then please ask, I will be as generous as possible. All builds must have a WIP build log and can be entered into the Gallery as soon as they are finished but please limit your pictures in the Gallery to no more than 5. No buying and selling allowed in the GB, we have a very good separate section for that. There will be a poll after the GB has finished where you can vote for your favourite model, no canvasing for votes please. Any criticisms or comments of others models are to be polite and constructive. And most importantly HAVE FUN! This is a hobby after all so please enjoy yourselves during your builds and even if just watching others builds. Thanks for taking part. Craig.

Now's your opportunity to summarise your work for the year. If you finished it during 2013, post up a few pictures here so everyone can see just how productive you were and pass (polite) comment on your work for the year. As stated in the forum header, the forum should become read only on New Year's Day 2014 as a record of our collective output. One thread each please folks, and if a thread is new, don't post anything for a wee while just in case the thread starter (OP - Original Poster) has to put another post because of the photo limit on each post, which I think is 30, although I might be wrong. Have fun... it's a hobby
