Does anyone know how common the Aero Vee intake was on merlin Seafires, in particular the type Mk II? It is more commonly seen on the Spitfire VII/VIII/IX etc.. and I've also seen photos of the Mk III with such an intake but I've never seen it on a Mk II so wondered when it may have been introduced and if existing examples could have been retro-fitted? I'm thinking of adding this later intake to my Mk II (robbed from the Heller XVI kit) but only if such a configuration did actually exist. Regards Colin.

Hi All, i'm building the Revell Victor, and haven't got the cash to splash on the detail kit to deal with the intakes. As I was going to build it on the ground i'll go for FOD covers. in the past I've done this with cut out paper, but it always looks naff. Any ideas/advice/tips on how to make really realistic and stable red FOD covers for the intakes? A la: http://thumbsnap.com/s/nwp4X5Nc.png Chris

Hi all, is there any indication of what colour(s) the intakes and wheel wells of the white Meteor F.3s sent to the continent with 616 Squadron were painted?

I know this was discussed recently but I can't find the info. Sorry... Above: middle production Airfix, new Revell, old Revell. I am trying to fix the nacelles of the old Revell Lancaster to use in my Beaufighter Mk.II conversion. Comparing it with the new Revell and old (middle...) Airfix, the differences are remarkable. I have drawings by R. Caruana in the SAM datafile and by Alf Granger in the Aerodata and they don't show different nacelles with the bigger intakes - however, looking at some photos, bigger intakes seems to have been used. Is it possible to know in which aircraft, or series? Would it be possible a York with them? I am reserving the Revell wings for a York. Photos showing clearly the differences welcome! TIA!

Su-25 Frogfoot Air Intakes 1:32 Quickboost from Aires Aires in their various incarnations are continuing to expand their range of 1:32 scale detail sets. This one, contains the auxiliary air intakes for the Trumpeter Su-25 Frogfoot. Contained in a poly sleeve, with a card backing these intakes, moulded in dark grey resin are direct replacements for the kits parts. There are five types of intakes all moulded with no sign of flash and minimal contact with the casting block these will be ready to use in no time at all. The intake lips are beautifully thin, certainly much finer than the kit parts. They will be a great improvement and add that little extra something to the completed model. Conclusion A great little detail set that can really help set off a model. The intakes look great in the resin and are so easy to use. Highly recommended for anyone with the big Frogfoot.
