I must admit that I'm not much of a kit builder these days, preferring to make my own things. But when I saw this one announced I knew I'd have to get one-probably several eventually. One of my favourite ships, such good looking and well balanced vessels, but I am biased to almost anything RN and destroyer or frigate sized.
I ordered mine straight from a Polish seller, and it was here in less than a week-well packed and presented in a nice, solid and useful box. For a first effort I think they have done a pretty good job-I can see plenty of room for improvement, but the basics are all there, and being a regular plastic kit,you can hack, cut and convert as much as you like, and glue it with any decent plastic glue in seconds. It was not expensive either.
Being awkward, I would have preferred the full hull option-I know many others won't worry about this, but I generally build nothing but waterline, and like to have the choice in the larger scales of a full hull-so I'll make my own. I shall also be replacing a few of the fittings and weapons too,we'll see how it progresses then.....
First job was to remove the overly thick 4" screens fore and aft,and add the decks. I then traced out a couple of rough blanks for the lower hull in 80 thou plastic card.

Once the screens were off and the deck cleaned up I got on with rough shaping of the lower hull.

It's starting to get there, but alot of shaping and smoothing to do.
