Here's some completed builds from my new Ercoupe design, if anyone is looking for an Ercoupe... Resin printed. I think this model is quite a step up in accuracy from the previously available 1955 issued Lindberg 1/48 kit. I built the 3D model using the original blueprints. I have options for the C/D or E elevator, the flat or the bubble windscreen, and spats/no spats. I'm treating them as 1.0 versions... Hopefully my 3D modeling skills improve, and I can add detail in the future. Also, my painting skills need a lot to be desired, compared to all the amazing work I've seen on this site. My painting skills are 'serviceable', maybe! They are available at www.ercoupetv.com. 1/48 C model with spats. 1/48 E model, bubble screen, N94805 (my Coupe!). 1/48 C model 'Scampi'. 1/72 D and E models.

I dropped in to the Local yesterday as I have a DCH 2 Beaver on nonurgent order, to see if it's in yet. Well, the answer was No- Airfix time is measured in months ,apparently...... But as compensation I spotted this on the Vintage Classics shelf, just waiting for a new home. I've done one already and really enjoyed the project, and the little plane is a real Looker. Plus Chris @bigbadbadge has just finished a lovely example which has put the thought of another Bassett right up in my mind 😀 I popped the box open when I got home....... and the next thing you know I'm carving plastic 🧚♂️🧚♀️🧚 I have plans for this one. My 1st build was pretty straightforward and I learned a few things along the way. This wee plane is a serious tailsitter and maximum effort is required to get her to stand with her tail up and nose wheel on the ground. I made use of some of the RAF decals and printed some general civil decor. The whole airframe is finished in a half-shiny white. But there's an alternative type, in fact there may be a few alternatives- some aircraft are fitted with 3blade props and I'd guess upgraded engines. The main item I'm trying for is the different passenger door layout, and I got straight onto the change It's the port side fuselage that's getting carved, And the cabin floor is extended a little and a different seating area layout. The rear bulkhead will be omitted- there's cargo stowage behind the rear seats anyway .And any contribution to adding lightness to the tail end is welcome The door survived quite well and I think it'll do the job once the window has been added. Much of the raised riveting and surface detail has been removed already and I had a try to demilitarise one of the bone-dome helmeted aircrew. This little plane features a pair of flaps with slats and pylons much in the style of the Bae Hawk. I'm thinking I should have a go at deploying them 🤔 So I'm under way, everything else pushed to the side....the 2nd one is always easier, isn't it?😇

Hello fellow modellers, here is the third DC-8 I have finished this year. here is the first one: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235131153-dc-8-52-air-new-zealand-authentic-airliners-1144/ here the second one: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235132131-douglas-dc-8-73-aire-devasion-minicraft-1144/ This one here is from the X-Scale kit with decals from Nazca. African Safari Airways started their business with a single Bristol Britannia (available from Roden) and bought this aircraft here as their first jet airliner in 1973 and used it for three years for flights mostly from Basel and some german airports to African destinations. The -33 used a very special kind of thrust reverser. The rear part retracts to the back, then folds the doors to reverse thrust. After landing, the so called ejector stays in the backward position as shown here. I hope you like this airliner with the non standard markings. cheers, Norbert

My favourite modelling subject is civil aviation. How does this model fit into this? Well, I have found a picture taken in December 1970 for an ad by Sikorsky (United Aircraft) . Here it is: Scroll down a little bit. Being a former German Army CH-53 Pilot, I was very interested in the technical similarities and how ICM have reproduced them. The kit is very well researched! But the instructions are not...at some places you are left alone, where exactly a part is supposed to be or how to paint it. I used aftermarket parts for masks, instrument panels and seat belts. I have designed the decals and had them printed. Well, I hope you like this big machine in a not so common livery! Norbert

Here is a very popular aircraft for hauling freight or dropping parachutists. The 6-place powerful aircraft has been produced in large numbers. I built this model from the 3D-printed kit by VFRmodels. I like unusual aircraft, the ones you don`t see at every model show, so I tried this kit. As I have got some experience with resin kits, the encountered challenges were not new to me. The interior didn`t fit into the fuselage, but with a cut with a razor saw this problem was solved. The tail decoration is provided as decal, so the colour for the fuselage had to match that. I used Revell Aqua colours for that and Gunze White. Hope you like the little bird. cheers, Norbert

Hello fellow modellers, I would like to show you this model of a rare aircraft. Air France used four converted military C-160s for postal flights from 1973 to 1978 between Bastia (Corse) and Paris. The service was very reliable. Some sources say, they were called C-160F, others say C-160P. The kit is a full resin kit by french manufacturer F-RSIN and was ....well,... a challenge. The wings were drooped at the end and bent. Treatment with warm water and hot air did not help at all. So I sawed off the outer wings, corrected the angle and glued them back on again. Not perfect, but much better than before Otherwise the Transall would have looked like an Antonov An-12 with its typical hanging down wing tips. The decals were very sensitive, so some repairs were necessary. All the walkway markings were not included, so I made them using black decal stripes. Some antennas and pitot tubes were also adde. The air intake in the right sponson was way too big and located at he wrong place, so I filled the hole and drilled a new one. Would I build another one? Guess! Well I got another one in my stash in German Air Force markings. (Should I sell or should I build? The Clash) Enjoy the photos. Greetings from Germany, Norbert . Size comparison to An-12

Ukrainian manufacturer Avis has released a nice kit of this unusual subject. The real aircraft G-BOPO is still used (or again) as a UK demonstrator. More Information can be found on Wikipedia. The scene is called "Living On An Island" (Status Quo)
