  1. Prompted by the Spitfire and Hurricane topics I've noted with the same intent, I trust it's not out of order to establish one for the Blenheim, as I suspect a few of us are getting stuck into the Airfix Blenheim kits. I have 4 on the go - a pair of Mk. I and Mk. IV types respectively. When I get a moment, I might put links to some of the recent questions about the Blenheim in this post/thread - and start my build thread.
  2. After seeing somewhere that Polish company Answer had released a PZL W-3A Sokół in 1/72 autumn last year, I had to order one. Especially as I had the pleasure of seeing one in action at RIAT last year. http://www.answerkits.pl/en/ They're mostly known for their card models but now appear to be concentrating mostly on variations of the PZL W-3A in both 1/48 & now in 1/72. I have been building it up gradually in between some other projects & taking a few photos as I go. The quality of the engineering & plastic is comparable to some of the early Modelsvit kits. All the parts are compressed onto five grey plastic sprues & one clear sprue. There's a photo etch sheet & a sheet of masks for the clear parts & a very nicely printed decal sheet. This is the kit.. Contents.. Once the mould seams which looks like flash in this pic, have been sanded/scraped off the parts, the engineering is near as perfect. Yes, every part does need a bit of clean up & I use a pair of single blade side nippers which is a must to remove without damaging the small parts. Here's the decals.. Now for the progress so far. Like I say, once all the parts are cleaned up they go together really well. One thing which is common I find with short run companies is why do they omit decals for instrument panels? This is as far as I've got & painted the interior. Checking from my pics & a handful of online sources it seems that a light beige was used for the interior. And also dry fitting the clear parts to see how well they fit. There are recesses in the clear parts to line up with the main fuselage, but fine sprue gates have to be carefully removed from the grey plastic to make sure the clear parts sit correctly. This is before committing with glue. I have also added a black edging to all the clear parts before they get attached. This is a view of my dry brushing on the instrument panel. And finally a couple of my reference shots. That's it so far & thanks for looking. Martin
