Here's my completed custom color scheme Bandai Vehicle Model X-Wing. I dubbed this the NATO Squadron, because of all the NATO Black I used on it. Halfway through shooting these pictures I realized I'd forgotten to paint the R2 unit, and attempted to detail it....and I just shouldn't have. There's an extra splotch on the canopy now, where the paint pen leaked. And while I've gotten pretty good at free-hand panel painting, I apparently still have absolutely no skill whatsoever when it comes to detailing those bastardy R2 units. Oh well. A 1/144th scale mechanic was clumsy with a teeny tiny paint can on a wee gantry. That's my story and I'm sticking to it....
I might have over-done the paint chipping a little...the Vallejo metallic acrylics just brush paint so nicely....
