Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 UM SU-100 with Armory resin wheels, MB metal barrel, Karaya towing cable, and Albion Alloys antenna added. The model was painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics (H80) and weathered with artist oils. All photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. I bought this kit a few years ago at an Eastern European model show (remember the good old days?) for a bargain price. It's a typical short-run kit, with heavy sprue gates and some flesh around parts, so it needs a little TLC before assembly. The kit wheels come in two parts each - a plastic wheel rim and a rubber tyre. Sounds like a good idea, but creates some problems for the modeller, because the rubber rings are difficult to clean up and may get brittle over time. I used resin wheels from Armory (intended for a T-34, but also suitable for the SU-100) as replacements. I wasn't very happy with this product as a few of the wheels had their mating plugs positioned off-center, requiring some extra work. The kit offers a towing cable, but this is also made of rubber, so I discarded the kit part and used a metal cable with resin hooks from Karaya. Markings represent a vehicle operating in the Berlin area, April 1945. Thank you for your interest, best greetings from Vienna! Roman

I can call it Finished! BZ-38, from UM in 1/48 scale. I decided to open the back doors, but I don't know how it was inside, so all that is there are my fantasies the process is here https://photos.app.goo.gl/qBS7r1C4gzc2NnJXA

Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is my 1/72 UM M12 155mm GMC 'King Kong', built from the box in markings of 991st FA Batallion, Germany 1944. Wires for the earth spade added. This little kit has around 250 parts (183 plastic and 62 photo-etch to be precise) and kept me busy for several months. Fit is problematic in places, and assembly challenging. I hope you like my result. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. Thank you for your interest - best greetings from Vienna! Roman

Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is my 1/72 UM M7 Priest in British markings, Italy 1944. With over 250 parts (plastic & etch) this kit will keep you busy for a while. Unfortunately the instructions are a bit sketchy and I managed to misplace some parts, extending the time of build. Model painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics (H304). Photogrpah by Wolfgang Rabel. Greetings from Vienna! Thanks for lookin'!

Good afternoon, I present to you my rendition of UM's SU-85 tank destroyer, my first experience with link and length tracks (and not a bad one at that). Built OOB with only a turned metal gun barrel and Eureka XXL copper tow cable. I only did some light weathering as I got slightly bored of working on this one.

I'm building (yes, as in actually sticking bits of plastic together) the 1/72 UM Flakpanzer based on the Panzer 38(t). It's a nice, well-designed and well-fitting kit of an appealing subject though with a bit of shrinkage here and there. However the centre of attaction will be inevitably be the gun and here UM have disappointed with an rather nondescript blob (even if parts of the gunshields are in photo-etch). I can replace the gun barrel with an Aber turned brass one intended for the Wirbelwind but am unable to think of a source for a better detailed FlaK 38 breech. Even a reasonably convincing German aircraft 20mm breech would be worth considering. Anyone have any ideas. please? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi there. This is my first tank build attempt. I have to say that the UM kit was a nice surprise, even for this small scale. Quite nice detail...good fit...even for those damned tracks... I built it with no extra's...I only made some small improvements. I made it very dirty indeed. Maybe too dirty. My modelling experience is still very limited, and it was my intention from the beginning to use this build in order to try and experience with various weathering techniques...with various degrees of succes, that is However, this is the final result. It looks to me that something is wrong with the color of the spare tracks mounted on the sides of the hull...think I will cover that rust pigment (especially near the spare tracks) with some dirt pigment or something... All the best,
